What is a tweet-up?
It’s an informal event where you meet up with the people you usually only converse with in under 140 characters. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to network, discuss social media tips and tactics, and learn from others.

There may be lots of people across the globe, who are attending this year’s WTM, who rarely get the chance to meet with their Twitter contacts, so hopefully this evening will be able to help these travel tweeters connect with each other.

How can I get involved?
As you can see, we have created a
Facebook Travtweeup fan page which anyone can subscribe to, send pictures to, or just post a comment.

You can also email pictures to book75thirty@photos.flickr.com, and these will automatically go up on the Facebook website.

There will likely be a lot of digital activity taking place over WTM, so we thought that it might make things clearer, but of course everyone should also use the tried and tested hashtag method (#travtweetup).

As it’s a public group, you could also use it if you’re hoping to meet up with someone in particular, just leave  a comment saying you’ll be there…

During the evening, we will also be filming attendees, and ask them to talk about how they use Twitter, or social media, in their role, and ask if it has helped them when organising WTM
