You can now find me over at matthewparsons.net where I’ll continue to write about travel and tourism, but there’ll be other stuff as well – a broader range of topics, more personal stuff, more pictures and more nonsense.

matthewparsons.net is part landing page – a menu at the top will show where else I reside on the internet – and part somewhere to write.

Wanting to write was the main reason I started Journeys Though Travel, but WordPress seems to be getting overly complicated. Categories, tags and all that. It also seems to lack support for mobile publishing, which I think will be a key trend in the future. I’m also straying off topic a lot. Yes, I know, that is a cardinal sin in the blogosphere.

Journeysthroughtravel.com will remain in place, as an archive (browse through 2009 here to see what I mean), but nothing new will be written here.

So I’ll admit I’m worried this move away from a traditional blog format may be seen as dumbing down, as I instead choose to experiment, rather than”post”, but I seriously believe how we use the web is changing.

How we “consume” news, especially on the internet, is shifting to being more colourful, fun, snappier, easier to digest – all results of shorter attention spans, yes, but that’s the way it seems to be going. At least that’s what I’ve noticed after blogging for 18 months, as well as seeing it in general in the publishing industry.

But like I said, it’s been a blast and I’d be honoured if you decided to follow me over at matthewparsons.net – it’s even got an RSS feed. Impressed, aren’t you.

So thank you to everyone who has commented on this blog, given feedback and supported me when I began this journey.

I’m still annoyed at Eurostar over refund issues, but that’s not the purpose of this post. Came across this yesterday – a request from design agency SomeOne – and in particular Simon Manchipp. So if someone, or anyone, has any ideas, he’s the man to get in touch with…

I’m thinking something white and fluffy might not be appropriate for the redesign at this point.
